Brand new KSR Ares V2 50W Tube Amplifier Head in black Bronco. Massive sounding modern high-gain tube head in a compact size. Multiple modes/voicings and intuitive controls make this a versatile head capable of delivering excellent rock and metal tones.
Note that there are two versions of the Ares. This is a V2 with a custom finish is updated to include Feel knobs in lieu of the Voice / Fat switches. The Feel controls actually provide more sonic options, and are an upgrade to the toggle switches. There are no other differences in the between versions.
Do not let the looks of the Ares™ fool you. Many years of experience and knowledge have allowed us to pack our signature high-gain Lead channel along with an all-new Crunch channel into a deceptively small package.
The Ares™ is a real ‘meat and potatoes’ amp and as such there is no MIDI advanced control built-in. It is a single channel amp with mulitple gain modes available. But since you can set each master volume to different gain stages it acts like a 2 channel amp with shared EQ. This is done with some cool features borrowed from the Orthos™, including assignable Crunch/Fat/Voice/Bright functions for each Master Volume as well as separate gain and independent “feel” knobs to let you shape each channel differently .
A transparent, yet fully bypassable, effects loop seamlessly couples the preamp to the power section. The Loop bypass and Master 1/2 selection are available both on the front panel of the amp, and on the floor via the included custom 2-button foot switch.
The Ares™ sounds deceivingly massive by utilizing a pair of 6L6 power tubes along with our custom oversized transformers for a rated output power of 50W, minimum. Via a simple bias procedure using the include external test points and bias control, the power section is capable of running most octal power tubes.
