The Seymour Duncan Custom Shop Brandon Ellis Dyad Parallel Axis is a high-output humbucker designed by the Black Dahlia Murder guitarist himself. Like a standard Duncan Parallel Axis, this pickup features dual-slotted pole pieces, equipping you with superior note separation and near-endless sustain. That said, the Dyad offers a hybrid layout, leveraging the ultra-dynamic north coil of a Crazy 8, the scorching-hot south coil of a Parallel Axis Trembucker Distortion, and the Alnico II bar magnet of an RTM. The guitarists here at Sweetwater have found that combination of features to exhibit the perfect blend of down-and-dirty bite and hyper-clean articulation — the consummate tonal recipe for high-octane melodic death metal. Want a chewier, more mid-focused sound? No problem. Just install the pickup upside-down.
